Cookie Notice

This notice explains how Backline uses cookies and similar local-storage technologies.

Effective August 7, 2026Version 2026.08.07

1. What these technologies are

Cookies are small data files stored by a browser. Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, pixels, and software development kits. They can remember a session, preferences, consent choices, and security state.

2. Categories we use

  • Strictly necessary: authentication, session continuity, fraud prevention, security, load balancing, and core application operation.
  • Preferences: theme, display, locale, and other choices you ask the Service to remember.
  • Functional and diagnostic: support tools, error monitoring, performance, and aggregate feature-use telemetry used to operate and improve the Service.

We do not use connected accounting data for behavioral advertising, and we do not authorize advertising networks to build profiles from that data.

3. Third parties

Authentication, hosting, monitoring, support, and embedded-service providers may set or read technologies needed to provide their contracted functions. Their processing is also governed by their applicable terms and privacy notices.

4. Your choices

You can limit cookies through browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary storage may prevent sign-in or make the application unusable. Where nonessential technologies require consent, we will provide a choice before activating them and remember your selection. Browser privacy signals are honored where required by applicable law.

5. Retention and updates

Session technologies generally expire when a session ends; persistent technologies remain for the period needed for their stated purpose or until cleared. We may update this notice as technologies or legal requirements change.
